Inspira7 Supported Sustainability Awareness at Plastic Free Festival 2025 with “Heroes of Nature”

As one of the sponsors of Plastic Free Festival 2025, Inspira7 took part in an event that brought together different stakeholders around sustainable living, environmental awareness, and reducing plastic consumption. As part of the festival, we developed a web-based interactive experience called “Heroes of Nature”, using technology as a tool to make sustainability education more engaging and accessible.

Our goal was to raise awareness of the environmental and human health impacts of plastic while helping participants explore more sustainable choices through an interactive and entertaining digital experience.

A Gathering for a More Sustainable Future at Müze Gazhane

Plastic Free Festival 2025 was held on 11 October 2025 at Müze Gazhane in Kadıköy, Istanbul. The festival focused on the environmental impact of single-use plastics and encouraged more sustainable production and consumption habits through a diverse programme of workshops, talks, panels, interactive experiences, and live music performances.

The festival was organised in partnership with TPS Academy and Etki Çemberleri Foundation, with support from UNDP, GEF, and SGP. Rather than approaching sustainability solely as an environmental issue, the event highlighted the importance of collaboration between individuals, businesses, civil society organisations, and other stakeholders in creating meaningful and lasting change.

The “Heroes of Nature” experience was developed as a web-based interactive game designed to make sustainability education more engaging, visual, and participatory. Throughout the game, players progressed through a series of questions and challenges focused on plastic consumption, recycling, responsible resource use, marine ecosystems, biodiversity, and everyday sustainable choices. Rather than presenting environmental information in a conventional format, the game connected each correct answer with a visible positive impact inside the digital ecosystem: marine life became stronger, the number of plants and living organisms increased, and the virtual environment gradually became healthier as participants made more sustainable decisions. This gamified structure helped translate complex environmental issues into simple, memorable interactions and encouraged users to see the relationship between individual behaviour and collective environmental impact. The web-based game was also supported by Koton, Kale Holding, Macrocenter, WWF and Alba Bike, whose contributions helped strengthen the project’s reach and its broader sustainability message. By bringing together technology, environmental education, gamification, and the support of organisations from different sectors, “Heroes of Nature” became more than a digital activity within the festival; it served as an interactive awareness platform designed to inspire participants to reconsider daily habits and understand how small choices can contribute to protecting nature over the long term.

Etki Çemberleri Foundation and the Power of Collective Impact

One of the key stakeholders of the festival, Etki Çemberleri Foundation, contributed to the event through its work in environmental and social sustainability, circular economy, and collective impact.

Throughout the festival, topics including climate change, circular economy, sustainable consumption, biodiversity, and the protection of marine ecosystems were addressed from different perspectives. This approach positioned Plastic Free Festival as more than an awareness event focused on reducing plastic use. It became a shared platform for discussing how sustainable habits can become part of everyday life and how collective action can create measurable environmental impact.

“Heroes of Nature”: Bringing Sustainability Awareness into an Interactive Experience

For the festival, Inspira7 developed “Heroes of Nature”, a web-based game designed to raise awareness of the impact of plastic on the environment, marine ecosystems, and human health.

Throughout the game, participants completed different challenges related to protecting nature, explored alternatives to plastic consumption, and learned more about recycling and sustainable everyday choices.

The experience was designed to go beyond a conventional question-and-answer format. Each correct decision had a visible impact on the digital ecosystem within the game. As participants answered correctly, marine life became stronger and the number of plants and living creatures in the virtual environment increased.

This structure enabled participants to directly observe how individual choices can influence the environment. By combining education with gamification, we aimed to transform sustainability from a passive learning topic into an experience that encourages interaction, reflection, and more conscious decision-making.

Plastic Free Festival 2025 offered a full-day programme combining sustainability-focused content with creative and cultural experiences.

In addition to talks and panels on climate and sustainability, the festival featured creative workshops, activities for children, brand experience areas, and environmental awareness initiatives. Projects such as the Upcycle Art & Reels Competition also brought creativity and environmental responsibility together, encouraging participants to rethink the value and lifecycle of materials.

The festival’s music programme further expanded the experience. Nova Norda and Fatma Turgut performed live, while Nodus contributed with a DJ performance, combining sustainability-focused discussions and activities with the energy of a contemporary festival environment.

For Inspira7, being part of Plastic Free Festival 2025 represented more than an event sponsorship. It provided an opportunity to explore how technology, creativity, and social impact can come together to create meaningful experiences.

Through “Heroes of Nature”, we transformed sustainability messages into an interactive digital journey, enabling participants not only to receive information but also to experience the consequences of their decisions within the game environment.

We believe meaningful environmental progress depends not only on awareness, but also on the ability of individuals and organisations to make more informed and responsible decisions. By developing experiences that connect technology with real-world issues, we aim to contribute to that transformation in a way that is engaging, accessible, and memorable.
